Jermaine Lockhart is topping the charts in the U.K. performing his Soulful, Jazz, Pop and Dance Saxophone Music.
Tenor Saxophonist Jermaine Lockhart was born in Cleveland, Ohio, where he grew up in the Pentecostal Church, developing his unique saxophone sounds. Since then, he’s added Jazz, Straight-ahead Grooves, and Rhythm and Blues genres to his repertoire.
He is influenced by artists such as George Benson, John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Woody Shaw, and Thelonius Monk because he says, “These musicians are the geniuses, whose music touches the minds and souls of listeners, and that’s what I also hope to do.” Also, mentor George Benson reminds Jermaine, “It’s important the music you make sounds good, makes you feel good, and makes you want to move, too.”
George Benson had this to say about Saxophonist Jermaine Lockhart – “Jermaine Lockhart is an artist that comes along every once in a while. When you hear him play, it’s something very striking – so that the next time you hear him, you’ll KNOW there’s something very familiar about his sound.”
Jermaine’s versatility has won him respect from jazz enthusiasts all over the world, and to his credits, he’s shared the stage with Angie Bofill, Pieces of a Dream, Brian Auger, Bob James, and The Jazz Crusaders.
He now happily resides in Phoenix, Arizona, with his loving family and continuously strives to push his saxophone to make the distinctive sounds which only The Sax Man can play.
